Off course
I love to travel. It is honestly one of my most favorite things to do. I love seeing and exploring new places and taking in new sites. In the U.S. we have some amazing places to travel…except New York City…New York sucks…avoid New York.
I have traveled to New York twice and neither was a pleasant experience. After my first travel fail I was hopeful my second visit would be different…I was wrong.
I pride myself on being able to get around from place to place. Being from the Midwest I’m used to road signs that basically walk you to your exit.
Not in New York.
There are a million highways and no signs. You basically jump on a highway and they wish you good luck! This was before everyone had a GPS in their pockets, so I had to figure things out old-school using an atlas and relying on my sense of direction.
But try as I may, I struggled to find my way around and got really lost. Finally, I had to ask for directions and that was not much help either. Eventually we found our way, but the journey was not much fun.
I was just ready to go home.
Sometimes we get off track. We look at our life and think, how did I get here? We can get turned around, go the wrong way, and feel lost. From time to time we need to stop and make sure we are on the right path. Maybe you are headed in the right direction and you can keep trucking. Maybe you are not and you need to stop, evaluate where you are, and correct your course. Either way, it is never too late to make adjustments and get back on the right path.
Someday I hope to return to NYC. You know what they say, third time’s a charm.
Happy trails!
