When Do You Do Your Best?
I just started studying for my real estate license. In order to complete my required work before the in-person class in May, I figured I had to commit three hours a day to study.
Now, my first day went really well. I started after breakfast and hit the books hard. I didn’t complete everything, but I made great progress.
The second day... didn’t go so well. I wasn’t able to get to the study until late afternoon and I struggled to get through the material. I was nodding off and my mind was really foggy.
What I realized was I don’t do my best work in the afternoon.
Here is what I know about myself: I thrive in the morning. The morning is when I prefer to read, write, study, workout, and get things done. I know once it hits noon, my energy and motivation drop and I lose steam. My best work is done in the A.M.
I think it is important for us to know when we do our best work Maybe it is first thing in the morning or late at night. Maybe it is with blaring music or complete silence. Maybe it is at the kitchen table or at Starbucks. Either way, knowing when you do your best work is vital for us to be our best.
When do you give your best?
