Second Act - Part 2
One of the best moments on the show “The Amazing Race” is when a team, after being beat up, frustrated, lost, and having lost all hope of progressing, comes to the mat and, after some dramatic TV teasing, is told,
“This is a non-elimination leg!”
It is amazing to see the hope, relief, and energy that is restored. They are fill with excitement or cry tears of joy. While the next leg is always harder with a later start and an additional challenge to overcome, teams are always fired up to know they have another chance.
Yesterday I talked about the Second Act. It is a term that challenged me in a sermon over the weekend. It is the understanding that while all might feel lost in your life, or your work, your family, or your faith, God is still not done with you. God still has a plan and purpose for you.
Let’s face it, life is hard. You would be a fool to believe otherwise. There are times we feel beat up, frustrated, lost, and that you have lost all hope. But the reality is, there is always hope. Sometimes it just takes stopping, taking stock of your life and circumstances, and determining what changes you need to make to change your trajectory.
As long as you have breath in your lungs, you have hope. Focus on what you need to change, how you need to grow, and how you will overcome your current challenges. Take those steps and be confident that God is not done with you yet!
